The following photos of Ice Circles were taken in November 2000 ... on the pond in our back yard.  This may take a few minutes to load (there are 20 pictures) ... please be patient.

 

We first discovered the Ice Circles on November 13, 2000 ... after our first freeze.  The ice covering the pond is very thin as can be seen in this photo.

Another view taken November 13, 2000 ... notice that there is no snow on the ground to account for how these were formed.

November 13, 2000 ... we don't know where this patch of snow could have come from ... with a proper view it actually looked like an elongated Star of David

 

November 14, 2000 They are still there!

 

Another view taken November 14, 2000 ... (Note: the colour difference in the photos below resulted from a change of film)

 

November 15, 2000 ... what is becoming more evident is that each circle has a hole in the center of it

Moving on to ... November 16, 2000

 

November 16, 2000 ... although the pond is still frozen the ice is obviously getting thinner

 

November 16, 2000 ... now this is very interesting ... you see in the foreground of this picture a small circle which is not contoured in white

We have no pictures between November 16 and 19 ... if I remember correctly the phenomena melted with the ice and we thought the show was over ... how wrong we were.

November 19, 2000 ...   there were freezing temperatures overnight and a light snow on the pond in the morning ... what have we here?  Looks like two large spirals.

 

November 19, 2000 ...   the snow melted quickly and the large spirals underneath become very evident

 

November 20, 2000 ... the spirals remain ... I believe there has been other formations similar to this image recorded in other locations ... however, we have not seen elsewhere any images like the ones we took from the 13th to the 16th

 

November 21, 2000 ... the Spirals are still evident.  Notice the two spirals back to back ... we refer to this as a Unified Field ... which is created by two opposite rotating spirals.

 

November 24, 2000 ... now we have some real snow ... look at the balls of light over the pond (commonly referred to as Orbs).  These were not evident to the naked eye.  Perhaps we now know what created the Ice Circles ???

That was the end of the show in November, 2000 ... and we were anxious to see what would happen in 2001.  However, our first snow in 2001 was quite heavy ... there were a lot of small circles in the snow but nothing like the year before.

These last 4 pictures were taken on November 28, 2001 using a Digital Camera
